That's about right. Jerry would be in the driver's seat enjoying the drive. George would be bothered and musing over the way the door sounded when he shut it twenty minutes ago.

George, "You wonder why your door sounded like a 'ka bump?' "

Jerry, "You mean it's a 'ka bump' instead of a nice 'wha thump,' right?"

George, "Yeah it's got enough 'ump' but it's short on the 'whaaa;' way too much 'kaaa' for my taste."

Jerry, "So you don't like the 'kaaa' hah? No 'kaaa' for you. You're saying too much 'kaa?' "

George, "Yup it's 'kaaa' biased. Way way too much 'kaa,' I like a good amount of 'whaa.' "

Jerry, "Not much of a 'kaaa' guy, hey George?"

George, "Yeah..., waaaay to much 'kaa.' I like to go easy on the 'kaa.'"

JERRY PULLS TO THE SIDE OF ROAD.

Jerry sternly, "Get out George."

George gets out thinking it's time to test the door again, "Okay, lemme show you..."

GEORGE SHUTS DOOR, THE SOUND IS CLEARLY A NICE CLEAN STURDY 'WHUMP' SOUND.

JERRY DRIVES AWAY. LEAVES GEORGE ON SIDE OF THE ROAD.

Mine sounds like a tank, in fact the whole car feels as solid as a tank. No creaks, rattles or pops.

No vehicle on the planet sounds as solid as my MB Gwagen. But it does weigh 2X my 997.

Both of my P-cars sound solid, even the 47-yr old Cab.

My 05 C2S didn't sound solid, but my 07 TT does. Porsche must have had a change sometime between. My 993 has that old world "clack" and Luger trigger that is most satisfying. Of course the door has a frame and is significantly shorter than the 997 door which helps a lot.

the g-wagen doors are the only other car besides an air cooled porsche that closes like a bank vault. If it was a better daily car, I'd have one without question.

my 05 S500 MB has the soft close doors, so you don't hear anything. Nice difference between that and the P-car
