Default Can PCM 3.0 be put in a 997.1????

Hey I bought my 997 and I realized I dont have the telephone buttons on my PCM. So after looking up PCM's on ebay I was curious if the 997.2 touchscreen PCM can be put in my 997.1?

Anyone know if this can be done?

someone here did it.. cost quite a bit.. i think over 3k if i remember correctly.

the 997.1 should have telephone buttons on left side.. what 997 do you have? even with the numbers you cant make calls with US PCM's (except on bluetooth w/ phone) cant put sim in car and call tho.

Hey there was a PCM for 997.1 for sale on this forum a couple of day ago, search for it.

I am not sure about retrofitting 997.2 PCM, the 997.1 is good enough for me and I actually really like the dial button to enter address, and the nav works great.

I don't understand, do you have PCM or not?

Do you mean that you can't use the built-in phone for calling out? If so, you need a BT kit, like Dension (see the Group-buy above) to enable it. Not sure how you could use it without those buttons, as I've never seen a PCM without the phone icons?!

Mine looks like this

I looked into adding PCM to my 997.2 and it required a VIN. My understanding is that it can't just be added to any 997. Price was 3.5k plus install/activation by dealer. Contact a dealer like SunCoast and send them your vin - your car may be eligible.

Yes I have PCM, but it must be a different version without Nav, the early 05's must of had a differenct PCM if not ordered with Nav.

I can't add the bluetooth denison unit because I it only works if you have the telephone buttons.....hence my desire to upgrade.

The very early 05s had a PCM that did not have the phone, TEL, and SOS buttons. It was later changed to the ones that did have the phone buttons and the TEL on the bottom and the sim card slot and SOS button.

Quick Reply: Can PCM 3.0 be put in a 997.1????
