Ofcourse we know who are the buyers!

Seinfeld, Jay Leno, quite a few NBA/NFL players, a few pro soccer players out of EU, a few princes out of Dubai, a few new millionares out of Russia/China, etc. Here's 356!

the higher the price of a limited edition car the more likely it will sell out.
there are more than 365ppl world wide who can burn this amount of cash without blinking an eye. but is it a good car...... we'll know in 20 years.

That article cites the price at $275,000. Well, I guess I will just have to pass on that one (but I would bet that if I searched several parts bins in the back of Zuffenhausen I could come up with the things I would need to transform mine!)

$275K - bargain - for US$275,000 you can just buy a base model Carrera down under. You guys in US don't even know how lucky you are with your P-car prices.

So, why is it so much more? You got luxury tax on these or extra duties?

I've seen articles that state a price of 201682 euro, which is about $275K USD. So maybe EU pricing is slightly different from the US?

The EU price includes the VAT (a stiff 20+% tax). If you remove VAT and convert the currency at a PAG-hedged rate you get the US price.

The US is not getting a discount. It is just not paying as high taxes as others do. Of course, in CA we also pay 9.5% sales tax on top of the negotiated price.
