Default 977 GTS pricing

Hey Guys:

im exploring the idea of getting a GTS. I wanted a more track focused car and was leaning towards a GT3, but really wanted PDK. So this might be a good compromise.
Has anyone spoken to dealers about pricing, are we looking at MSRP?
Will be talking to dealer later, just wanted to see if anyone has been there/done that

thanks

MSRP- few "allocations" available, but if you show up with your down payment I think they'll 'find you one'.

The web site is masterfully practicing a slight of hand showing you all the goodies like Bose, NAV, PCCB's, PDK but if you read further it's all OPTIONAL.

You win the X51 power kit w/sport exhaust, tarted up exhaust tips, alcantra trim on the seats, doors, steering wheel, shifter, and console door, black centerlock wheels, no back seat. It's about 23K worth of stuff for 10K premium over the 997.2 S. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Only "Porsche partner" web site can configure (dealer).

Can you keep the back seat at no cost?

Funny that there is a thread on the 997 GT3 forum about how to convert a centerlock setup back to a 5-bolt. The centerlock design adds a lot of weight where you don't want it.

If I had known the GTS would be coming out, I would have waited and bought one instead...

That is pure speculation, and I find it very hard to believe given the extent to which Porsche reduces unsprung weight. But it is possible.

Centerlocks do seem like a giant PITA. I can't imagine having to stay within a comfortable radius of a Porsche dealer to simply fix a flat tire.

Yes; same width as the C4 and C4S (along with the Turbo, GT3RS, GT2, GT2RS, Speedster, and Sport Classic).

I've actually heard that there's a chatter to make all "S" variations of 991 wide body, and keep the C2, C4 narrow body... have to wait and see if that's true or rumor as it'd be totally different than how Porsche's were... but from seeing that ALL of the latest *special* edition cars are widebody, it won't be a major stretch if they went that route!

After being around a bunch of track guys with center lock wheels...there is no way is HE*L I want center lock wheels. Other than that the GTS is an awesome car..or if you do not do any track days and want a Porsche that will be very rare...the GTS is great.

It wouldn't be a totally new idea. The 993 Carrera S was a wide body.

Small print in web feature says you can add back in rear seats, but dealer is unable to confirm.

Regular 5 lug wheels are no charge option.-but only one other choice.

Alcantara delete @ no charge, but "two tone interior" is retained for some reason. Don't know if its just the seats/door inserts or everything.

Really a lot of unanswered questions, but "official introduction" is at the Paris auto show in October.

Anyone actually signed on the dotted line to know how much altogether one paid for GTS?
