Default Looking for some feedback on Sharkwerks muffler bypass

1. I do alot of highway driving @ 75MPH - is there drone?

2. Would you do it again?

3. Is there potential to void the warranty (in other words, would I have to swap it out before I have any in-warranty issues looked at?)

Have had the SW bypass on my GT3 for 2 months now.

1. No drone at all. In fact, on the highway at while cruising it not really distinguishable from stock. It really comes alive above 4000 rpm, but is generally quiet below that.

2. Yes, yes, yes

3. My dealer told me that if there were a warranty issue that could be directly attributed to the bypass, then it could potentially void that specific claim. A judgmental question here.

Good luck,

Best mod you can make to a 997! If you have a .2 version, it's a must to fix that unappealing factory sound
1. No drone at all
2. YES
3. unlikely to have any issues

Try a search to find dozens of threads just like yours. Resounding YES on the primary bypass.

No drone whatsoever, just beautiful deeper tone with burble when you lift.

Would do it again in a heartbeat.

No warranty issues - there will be people on both sides on this one but it's one of 3 mufflers in the car and I've never heard of a muffler causing any issues, never mind a warranty one. Many dealers (like mine) will happily install the bypass knowing it won't be a problem.

i would recommend their X pipe bypass (997.2?)

no drone,

no warranty issues, (dealer specifically asked PCNA and only touching/changing the CAT's affects warranty on 997.2... after cat=no problem)

Great mod and Sharkwerks is a great company and very well respected int he Porsche world. Anything after the cats...like mufflers will not affect warranty.

have had one on my '09 C2S for over 18 months and 17,xxx miles and no problems. Great quality, easy to install, much improved sound AND you reduce weight in the rear by 10 lbs and gain some horsepower. A win win decision.

Additionally there is no increased noise inside the car at cruise.

I'm very happy with mine. It doesn't make the car sound like a GT3, but it is a nice improvement.
Easy modification (although I have to admit, I paid to have mine installed... much easier on a lift).
I also agree that the Sharkwerks guys are great to work with.

I had my Sharkwerk pipes on since last summer and I like it. Decent improvement over stock exhaust. However I had to remove it due to a bad O2 sensor this spring because the dealer wanted to make sure the Sharkwerk pipes didn't cause the faulty sensor. Needless to say, it didn't. The sensor got replaced under warranty but I haven't put back the pipes since. I do miss the sound so the pipes are going back on this Labor Day weekend.
