Many like the K40 as well. It is all about what you like when it comes to information. I used to run an Escort for decades and then switched to the V-1 to get the directional information. I find it quite helpful. Unfortunately, there is no real way to hide the control head (antennas) so you must evaluate for yourself whether having it in your car in a vulnerable place is acceptable in your usual parking spots (possible theft loss). Fortunately, my area is rather crime free, so I feel fairly safe in leaving it up in the shaded area of the windshield. When I am in an area in which I don't feel that safe out it goes -- with me. The K40 installation is commonly done so that front and rear antennas are hidden. However, you are compromising your early warning range when you mount the antennas down low. The higher that you can mount the antenna(s) the earlier your radar warning. (I was an airborne early warning radar guy in the USAF).

Drove out of dealer with Sammy Hagar "I can't drive....55" playing as they laughed their asses off. Then, windows all down, stereo off, listening to the 3.8 and sport exhaust on the way home.
Once home, took many pictures, parked it into garage and just stood there for at least an hour looking at all angles. Go back and sit inside, breath in the smells and start playing with A.S.S. adjustments to my liking.
Cleaned off finish (QD) and finally go and bring in manuals to read all night.
Go back to garage just to roll up door to look at it again. Hearing wife wondering when I'm coming to dinner, sorry, I'm drinking in my dinner now...

Actually the other day I was driving and my laser went off once in an area that is normally quiet. I slowed down then got hit again for real. The cop was a 1000 meters up the road. I was lucky as I think I got part of a signal deflected off a car in front of me before he pinged me for real. I try never to go out without the V1. I think that is what I will stick with for now.

Haha - reminds me of a hitting a particularly "memorable" busy motorway intersection at 80mph (with my wife in an unusually affectionate mood) - the only time I've ever cursed my manual gearbox.Come to think of it, brings new meaning to the word "manual" but then that would just be a poor man's BJ
