41k + miles on my 997.2 C2S
I'm on another road trip and would like to share some recent service observations. While in NY, I needed an oil change and had it performed by a Porsche dealership for $121. The cheapest by far. Why do most charge $300+?They only charged $12 for labor! Rear tires needed replacement as well. With only PS2 N2 305's available, Porsche NA picked up the cost of new N2 fronts to match the rears because N1's weren't available for the rear. This speaks to the question: "are matching N codes necessary?" I guess the answer is an unqualified yes! Total cost for oil change, new tires, mounting and balancing using first-rate Hunter equipment, and replace the spark plugs is costing only $2200, OTD. BTW, my factory warranty should expire prior to my return to California. Not bad for 15 months!

Only $2,200!! The $121 for the oil change is a great price, never have seen a price that low at a dealer. But another $2,079 for two tires and plugs, WOW! Not sure I would feel that this was such a good deal.

Tires - well, new set of PS2 is a $1600 or so as I recall. $200 to mount them all is somewhat also realistic, so total bill is not that bad, actually. Am I wrong?

When I first read the OP's post, I thought the same thing because it sounds like he went in for just an oil change and walked out $2,200 lighter. On the other hand, I thought the maintenance interval for spark plugs on a 997 was 60k miles or 4 years...

First - Big congratulations on 41k miles on your 997.2 CS!
I agree with others that the tire deal and plugs was not so hot. I see no reason to replace spark plugs at that mileage/time.
Since you say your warranty will expire soon, I imagine you will promptly drive another 9k miles.
