remove wheel, loosen muffler to gain access to heat shield bolts, locate solenoid beside middle coil pack, remover solenoid wire connector, remove solenoid, replace and reassemble.

Ok so this 06 cayman s started with one random misfire code and over the weekend developed into 3 cylinder misfiring 4 5 6. We did check compression and did spark plugs , finally doing some research found that indeed the variocam solenoid was faulty/.
this sensor is located on the side where the coils are and you can swap them from bank to bank to see if the faults follow. One on each bank. Check out this post I found online
we swapped it from bank 2 to 1 and the misfire follow
