Default My dealer = My hero

Last month when I had new tires put on (Pilot Sports), I asked the dealer to save the old ones (P-Zeros) so I'd have a used set for the track. I've been holding onto a set of black-centered lobster fork wheels for just that purpose. Dealer mistakenly throws out my old tires. Many apologies follow. Fast forward a few weeks, they call and say they have a new set ("a few hundred miles") of Bridgestone Potenzas available. I drop off the wheels and they mount and balance said tires - all for no charge. To see how they ride and look, I put them on this weekend.

The ride so far has been great, smooth and quiet. Apart from the strikingly different look it gives the car, I'm struck by the generosity and graciousness of the dealer. I mean, how nice is that?

Nice outcome...great dealer....you should post the name of your dealer too.

MY dealer Bert Smith Porsche has been really great to my wife and I, especially Mike O'Donnell my sales guy. He is a hard and honest worker and very gracious.

Call me a cynic but I would have preferred to have my own stuff... My guess is that some poor schmuck showed up asking for 20s, the dealer told him he couldn't do anything with the 19s take off and that's how you got them... Glad you're happy though.

Which Potenzas? There are quite a few different tires under the "potenza" umbrella, with significantly different performance characteristics. You say you're looking at these at track tires, so the performance is important.

The dealer is Porsche of Nashua (NH). I've always been very pleased with their service, which has been outstanding despite the fact that I bought my 997 elsewhere. I recommend them most highly.

Buy the guy a half-case of Veuve Cliquot.......he'll remember you for sure and look after you forever.

They are a bit of a haul from me but its good to know there's a good dealer in the area. I've been going to Prime in Westwood and so far - not impressed.

Thanks for posting!

I bought three Porsches from Porsche of Westwood, one from Porsche of Burlington, and my most recent from Porsche of Nashua. I only received a Thank You card and call from Porsche of Nashua's Sales Manager, not the others. That meant a lot to me. Porsche of Nashua is a great dealership.
