maybe its just me, but I'd rather spend the time accumulating brake dust than cleaning the INSIDE of the wheels.

I agree. I recently switched out the OEM Speed Designs to O.Z. Alleggerita with a Gun Metal finish and I am now spending almost no time cleaning the dust off.

Here's your answer:

Once clean and dry, use a sealant such as Rejex or other quality sealant.
Zaino CS works great since all you do is apply and walk away.

Waxes will not last on a wheel due to heat.

Once cleaned, maintain with P21S and reapply a sealant to keep the cleaning easy.

Darker wheels brought an end to brake dust bothering me (and I'm having more fun cornering with the 18's)

I pull the wheels once a month to inspect my tires for wear and damage. While off the car, it's relatively easy to clean the wheels completely. Soap & water to clean, kerosene or lamp oil to remove any tar, wash again, dry and wipe with a quick detailer. This process takes about an hour and allows me to inspect the calipers, rotors and brake lines.

I'm not sure but I think the cleaner the interstices of the rotors are the longer and better they will perform. AFAIK, Brake dust insulates the rotors which is bad.

wash them very clean, with soap, then use brake cleaner spray, get them immaculate then apply a LOT of rejex, get it dried in 24 hours apply second thick coat of rejex.

2 good rejex coats will hold on very long. key is to have wheels originally as clean as possible so it could stick to paint/metal directly.

Is there a Porsche logo stamped anywhere on that Ti?

Impressive bit of work by your surgeon! (Did he/she happen to be german?)

Home Brew - I know you guys are gonna hate this and some PHD chemist here will tell us all that this formula will stop the globe spinning and end the world as we know it. But I've been using this for about 4 decades with no harm to anything. It's an old bikers formula that removes just about anything, even caked on bug juice... 3 equal parts of the following 1/3 Liquid Tide, 1/3 Ammonia, 1/3 White Vinegar. I mix it up in a gallon jug and pour it in a sprayer. Brake dust, wheel grease, tar and anything else just washes away with a light brushing. Of course this will strip the wax off too. Then put on a little REJEX and you're good to go.

- mark...

I've used mrzoop Home Brew for 40 years (except I use Dawn not Tide). It was the only thing that would clean my MG's wire wheels.
Remember for long term wheel cleaning during routine washes, use only that product that you would use on your car's paint.
Because your wheels have the same "clear coat" that is on your car's paint. Thus the need for REJEX after you use the Home Brew or any other rough & tough cleaner.

Once cleaned, maintain with P21S and reapply a sealant to keep the cleaning easy.
Use P21S generously every time O wash my car and wheels are always spotless. Openings on the Twist are easy enough for me to reach the inner rim easily with a sponge.
