Default kumho v700 265/35r18 335/30r18 on C2

Hi,

amazingly it did fit my car, barely fits in front but fits. Front struts are cleared very well, fenders - will see. Look like it should dive inside in turn just fine. Will see. On a street I could not make it rub.

Wheels are ccw c14:
18x9 +50mm (7" backspace), 18x12 +69mm (9.25" backspace).

$594 for tires alone plus $60 shaving - quite a sweet deal.

Good work UT (hey whats your name mean anyway?)

You havent lowered the car yet? I ran mine at stock height for a while, looked bad but handled just fine.

I have the exact same CCW wheel setup and run 245-40/315-30.

I was actually faster than many 997's with giga money suspension mods in advanced solo group. Guess the factory knows how to set up a car.

my name is Paul Atkin, utkinpol is an acronym from my unix days as i needed unique name in 8 letters an could not start it from 'a' and it did stick to me.

car will get complete suspension rebuild in the end of june. stock springs are not bad but still too soft IMHO.

it is arguable if it is worth the money to rebuild suspension. I am getting whole 'megathing' - jrz rs with 600#/800# springs, dogbones, thrust arms, gt3 LCAs, gt3 upper mounts, all monoballs instead of rubber, etc.
almost $10K tag. will see how it all will work out.

i sort of planned this thing from the beginning - to make proper sport car out of this C2, so, will see.

with stock height my rear has a tendency to get loose too often in turns and it quite obviously does not like hoosiers at all with stock springs/shocks.

i drove/circled on those shaved kumhos on wet parking lot this morning after getting them on - grip is freakin' perfect! not sure why those v700 were badmouthed by some, looks like a heck of tire to me, cheap and fun.

You may be OK with the car at stock ride height but be careful after you lower it with the 265's

Most running that much tire up front change to the wide Grand-Am fender for clearance.

Its a slippery slope.

Very cool install!!!! Hope it works out. I'm all for the most footprint you can get down on the pavement without interference, especially in the rear. 335? in the back? You da man! I'd like to see a shot of the rear end with the camera a bit lower to see all that rubber goodness back there...

i`ll give bunch of pictures when suspension will be completed, in July. showed car to mechanic - he says on a lowered car with rotated GT3 upper mounts 265 fronts will be cleared just fine with -2.7 or so camber. will see.

I love front grip. rear may be a bit overkill, 315 would be better perhaps, but they did not have 315 on sale, only 335. car is planted very well on those shaved tires. i believe it fits in front only because I have GT3 LCAs with 14mm of shims in left and 9 or so in right and camber is -2.2, with stock LCAs and -1 degree camber it may rub at struts and fenders, so, be cautious.

From what I was told 255mm tires on those wheels do fit stock C2 fronts.
