great series and certainly gives you a nice guide through where all our rides were born.
i was surprised when they said that the most popular colors were black, white and red. Perhaps its based on global sales, but I've never thought that white and red would be more popular than silver/grey...(at least in the Northeast)

Great program. I was stationed in Germany in the mid-70's and looked up the pictures I took of the factory then. WOW what a change. Everything was hand built back then and the cars moved on hand pushed carts. It looks, from the program that most of the old buildings are gone.

A very impressive programme - seen it several times. There is also an excellent one on Rolls Royce, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
The attention to detail shows in the quality of a finished 911.
Lamborghini in contrast had much less advanced production techniques as far as I could see.

Saturday seemed to be Ultimate Factories day because they showed back-to-back shows of it. Chevy Volt, Camaro 2010, Porsche, RR, Lambo, Ferrari...very nice show and great look inside the other factories.

Anyone know if the dvd set includes the Porsche tour? On the NG website it doesn't list it separately. For $45 you get the set but it doesn't say which factories are covered. I don't get the NG channel and keep wishing I did when this show is brought up.

You can find it on the Internet...Either through Nat Geo, Hulu, whatever. If worse comes to worse, just dl it as a bit torrent.

I've been searching too and have not found it either. Nat-Geo does offer a box set of "Ultimate Factories" on their site, but the DVD set is from their first season and does not included the Porsche episode. Hopefully soon!!

Thanks guys. Hoping to watch on the big tv at home so the finding a dvd is a good route for me. Looks like there are two dvd sets, an older and newer one where the newer one has the BMW factory. I ordered this one from Amazon through a third party seller with 99% positive feedback for $34. Can't wait to see what's on it.

According to NG website, the 4 DVD's set has the following episodes:
* BMW
* Corvette
* Peterbilt
* Caterpillar
* Fire Truck
* Winnebago
* M-1 Tank
* John Deere
* UPS
* Budweiser
* Harley-Davidson
I don't see the Porsche episode anywhere...

Thanks, I looked on the NG website this morning and didn't see these details there or other sources I checked. I like having dvd's playing in the background while I'm working. This dvd set's perfect for it. Will have to watch the Porsche episode online for now.

Now I see it on the NG website clear as day. I was only on cup 1 of 2 coffee this morning. Just watched the paint sequence online too and will have more respect for their $1k+ color options.
