I like narrow bodies as well. They are so much like the previous no frills Carreras.
The wide bodies have their place. But the narrow bodies are where its at!!
Jumper I agree after two GT3s this C2S with PDK is so close its not worth it to me
to pay for the GT3 premium.
WIth so many racing trannies going sequential, a auto manual tranny like the PDK makes
perfect sense on a GT3. The TT already has it, GT3 is next. Lots of guys who track would
like a GT3 PDK. Some older guys, guys with bad left legs etc etc.

Exactly!!! PDK has no business in a GT3 period. If the GT3 RSR does not have a PDK, then neither should the street variants. Now a Squential gearbox in the next road worthy GT3 - now we are talking!!!

^ Yawn. This position has been argued for years (trust me, I've argued it). Buit the fact is Porsche will build what sells and the PDK belongs. dave

People who argue against the PDK either dont track alot or havent driven one. I have had both GT3s on the track and the TT on the track. Once I drove the PDK I knew it was a hit. When driving aggressively
shifting from the steering wheel is just fantastic.
I guess you guys forget PDK has won LeMans?
It is getting to be a boring argument. Racing is going to PDK like trannies. If you are arguing against PDK
you might as well ask for the old 2.4 liter motor and have no more than 180 hp. Its the same argument.
Anything over 200 hp is SACRILEGE!!! Turbos are SACRILEGE!!! Aero is SACRILEGE!!!.
I wonder how come alot of the serious track guys have PDKs they are outfitting for the track?

i would always like to have a stick shift in the garage. but PDK is coming and it is basically the modern sequential box. the next or the next next GT3 will be PDK/sequential, i'll bet on it. the current porsche pdk is fast and smooth. if i want to go fast, i drive pdk. if i want to feel fasst, i drive my stick

Read the June issue of Excellence reporting on a 997.2S PDK prepared as a race car.

I'm not sure why PDK owners are so sensitive on this topic. The twin mated gearbox PDK is an absolute marvel. They are fast, smooth, heavy and complicated. They don't belong in a GT3.

I am not sensitive at all. I have had some of the best 911's on the planet. If you dont want to partake in PDK then dont. I just went out and did a ride with a modded 996 TT (supposedly 500hp) and we did a rolling start on a closed course in Malaysia and the stock PDK was faster till about 110. Then both lifted.
How many 6 speed Ferraris are there now?
The PDK doesnt belong in a GT3? Did it belong in a LeMans winning Porsche 956 in 1983? Seems to me
the 956 and the GT3 have alot in common. What a hokey arguement. The PDK STARTED in a race car.
Your'e right tho a GT3 is not a race car.
