Break-in question

Break-in question
Ok, I have 1000 miles on my (new) 2009 C2S pdk (racing green launch car)... and I've already had an oil change.
I've been reading the numerous threads about DFI oil consumption.
My question is this:
I put on a lot of highway cruising miles on my commute to work. As you know, the pdk when in auto mode will keep the car in 7th gear at a low RPM, approx 2000, for the duration. During the break-in, am I better off keeping the pdk in 6th gear (manual mode) for highway cruising, keeping rpm's at about 2800 instead?
Or maybe in 5th gear (3200-3400 rpm's)?
What's the best for the break-in period? Are the higher rpm's better?

Three Wheelin'
the best is to keep changing the rpms...dont keep it at any 1 speed for an extended period. The best way to break it in is to vary the RPMs as much as possible.

During my break-in period ('09 C2S 6-sp), I never let the revs remain at any one engine speed for an extended period, never went above 4k and never lugged the engine. Now with 31K on the clock, I still vary the rpm when using the cruise control and utilize the entire rev range. I change the oil at 6-7k mile intervals, and, after the first change have had only one instance of adding 1/2 qt., and that could be a result of the amount of oil added at the change. I now monitor the amount of oil the dealership puts in as a check. Perhaps, I'm lucky that mine doesn't use any oil between changes.

As an aside, I'm glad I bought my C2S now!
(22% off MSRP, 2009 new launch car, exact color I would have ordered (racing green), all the options I wanted (sprts chrono, etc)).
I can't imagine what buying a new C2S will cost in a few years in the U.S, with a likely falling U.S. currency, decreasing allocation (tilting toward Asia and the Middle East), possible new VAT, etc. Maybe $ 125-135K U.S., or more, by then.....

For PCA members, the below link explains why the factory recommends its specified break in period.
