Thanks, guys. Owners have been signing up--they just have the good sense to not post in this thread.

The 2006 is in the survey, and we might have an initial result for it in February--I'll know one way or the other early next month. Both the 2007 and 2009 are now about 3/4 of the way to the minimum, so they're also getting close.

To help get your year included:

Your site is flawed (from my perspective). There is no reliability info for the 911. In fact, for all the recruiting you have done herein you only have data (which I can't see) for 911s from 1999, 2002 and 2006?

To minimize the chances of skewed results, the survey collects data going forward. So there's necessarily a delay of 4-8 months from when a model is added to the survey to when we start having results for it. Once the results do start coming, though, they'll be promptly updated every quarter.

I think you missed my point. Data from over a year ago has never entered the system.

This is a different point.

The main survey focuses on how cars have been faring recently, because how they fared in the past isn't relevant to most people. The analysis for the reliability stats never includes data from over a year ago for any car.

We do have a separate repair history form for older repairs, and the repairs that have been reported via this form have been visible on the site since the moment they were reported.

So you're not interested in all repair history of cars. Just what is popping up right now, vice 2 years ago.

I'm ashamed of the catty ridiculous responses from Rennlisters in this thread.

TrueDelta is doing all car buyers an amazing service by providing a place to gather real reliability statistics.

Car manufacturers have done us all a great disservice by lying and hiding their problem rates. Automotive journalists are complicit with them in covering up problems (or just being uninformed or biased).

The best solution is to get data directly from owners.

There may be some inherent bias in the gathering method, but since that bias is systematic, it could easily be corrected if there was enough data.

So quit whining and go sign up.

The "repair histories" on the site do cover all the way back to when the car was purchased.

The reliability stats only look at the last year. JD Power and Consumer Reports do the same, for the same reason: the recent past is the best indication of what's likely to happen in the near future.

Thank you for your support. Some of the concerns are genuine, some not so much. Compared to another elsewhere on this forum, this thread isn't too bad.

BTW it doesn't look like you're on Planet-9 , you should try to get them to register their Caymen.

PistonHeads also has a very big thread on reliability :

We have some new pages that display all reported repairs by problem area:

2006 Porsche 911 problem reports

From this page it's possible to select a different model year or specify a problem area.

Now just a few cars from adding the 2007 and 2009 to the survey. The 2006 is already in, but some members have sold their cars, and more remain needed for this year as well.

I signed up a while ago and like the service, but I don't like getting spammed constantly about it. If you could make it absolutely effortless to report "no problems this month", like just having a link in the email that does not require any login or data entry, just a single click, responses may be higher.

I know data is better with odometer readings, but I'm not going to go digging for my login/password or run out to my car to check the odometer every month of trouble-free service. I only go through that sort of trouble when I'm pissed about something breaking.
