Paint Protection Film Gone Wrong - 997 Turbo Cab
Still too often, we receive inquiries and because our pricing is higher than our competitors, the vehicles end up in the wrong hands. This comes down to the standards of the vehicles' owners. Some may not even notice any of these imperfections while others are sharp enough to pick it up in just 3-4 feet distance.
Case in point. We have a 2010 Turbo Cab with a bad clear bra install. Our team is working on it as we speak, so no installation photos, just shots of this "cheaper" install before we pull it all off.
WE ARE MOST CERTAIN THAT THERE ARE RAZOR CUTS IN THE PAINT. Unfortunate, but this is a very good reason to not base a decision in choosing a clear bra applicator based on price.
DEEP RAZOR CUT ON THIS MIRROR AND WE HAVE NOT EVEN PULLED THE FILM OFF - CUSTOMER IS EXPECTING THE WORST AT THIS POINT

Drifting
Did the owner arrange for the dealer to have it done by "their regular guy who does good work"? If so, shame on the dealer. What a shame to butcher a very expensive car so needlessly.

my car has all xpel precuts, and they fit way better then that custom bs. Dealership told me I didnt have clearbra when I told them I had it when they were attempting to sell it to me. B-Pillar forward is covered...doors and all.

Makes me tempted to drive from ATL to SFO just to get mine done right. No cuts, thank goodness, but way too many blemishes. Oh well, at least no rock damage. And with my vision, I can't really notice it from 5 feet away.

I bought my car with clear-bra done. Its a nice clean job, so no complaints. However, I'd probably skip it on my next car!

Second the drive to SFO notion. That is just sick!

It's Karma.
People who go out of the way to park their cars from everyone else to avoid dings are the ones who get dinged. People who obsess about rock chips and put clear bras on their cars are the ones who wind up with razor cuts instead.

My car was an "Executive Car" before I bought it and my clear bra install looks worse than that in some spots. The dealer told me they apply it at the port to all executive cars. It was probably the same butcher that did that one. If I had paid for it I would be outraged but I've left it that way for 2 years and barely care. I figure the temporary ugliness is better than the permanent damage I may face without it.

For a black car, that is actually driven, it is nearly a must unfortunately. I'm on my 6th black car - I know all too well. It's really a trade off - the look of the film only noticeable at close range, or the look of a sand blasted front sickeningly visible every time you walk up to the car - the film is my lesser of evils.
