Default Sport Classic wheels now available from OPC network

According to a recent thread on the PCGB forum people have been pricing them up, in the UK they are priced at £3200.

I know there was some interest in these retro style wheels when the car was announced so thought I'd share with you the good news just in case you didn't know..

Cheers,

Sizes? Unit cost? Is the £3200 for a set of four?

Thats for 4 (according to the thread) Sizes, good question it's not mentioned on the thread.

But they should be as fitted to the sport classic:

8.5 x 19 offset 55
11.5 x 19 offset 50

I'm going to call my OPC tomorrow and enquire for myself.....

With that rear offset I'm not sure they will fit a narrow bodied carrera?

Update, Available in May but you can order now. But that offset makes them a no no for standard bodied cars unless they produce them with a 67 rear offset as well, I will check in the morning.

Would like to know how the wheels are made. I suspect pressure cast. Anyone know for sure?

No I don't however Porsche always mention when a wheel is forged i.e the turbo wheels etc...and don't mention this wheel being forged in the web special so I would guess cast, I will enquire more when I have spoken to my OPC

If those are the only available offsets its a moot point well for me anyway.

I actually started a thread about these. Are the specs mentioned for the wheels, the same as the stock wheels on my 997.2 C2S?

No, not if they only make them for the wide bodied cars (which the sport classic is) the rear offset is 17mm less. 50 vs 67

I thought Mr. Gemballa skipped town. Is Gemballa NA a different entity? A solvent one?

Interesting they seem to suggest that it will fit both narrow bodied and wide bodied cars

Will fit Porsche 997 GT 2 / Turbo / 997 C2 4S GT 3 RS GT 3

Sit tight a little as a friend of mine will be producing 19 inch Fuchs wheels via the single-piece drop forged method very soon. They will be produced in a variety of offsets to deal with both narrow and wide body 997 applications.

Being drop forged I would expect them to be lighter than the ones produced for the Sports Classic. I don't have weights yet.
