Default Anyone breaking their car out of hibernation this weekend?

(You West Coasters- keep quiet! )

After almost two months of being locked away in the garage from snow, today is liberation day! If any of you see a white T4 along the foothills in northern or central VA, 'tis me.

Yup. Hit 40 yesterday in Chicago, so I got the Porsche off the lift. I try to take it out once a month or so over the winter for a few days, so I may not really count.

I am hopeful I can keep it down for more than a few days before it snows again (when, not if).

Also near Chi town-- took off the cover, unplugged the battery tender and enjoyed what we like/have to call early spring ...

30 miles ride--You can really appreciate these cars after you are away from them for a few months.
My DD is a fun, little hot rod (BMW 135i) but it pales by comparison.

To quote one of my friends who drivves an EVO X after I let him test drive the C2S--the Porsche is a different kind of FAST....I call it relentless--not that there is anything wrong wit that..

Hit close to 60 yesterday in KC and took the car out for a few miles. Really looking forward to spring.

Really now! You're talking like the roads have been a sheet of ice for 2 months- it doesn't matter if there's snow on the grass when the roads are dry

No hibernation here, aside from the few days the roads actually were snowy, and everything shut down here anyhow so no reason to drive. I *did* drop the top today, though, for the first time in about two months!

Had it out yesterday and a few days last week.

Near 60 degrees in Lincoln yesterday.

Feels good to be back.

Getting ready for a long drive right now.

Enjoy it while you can! I hope it only starts to drizzle after the garage door shuts upon your return!

Pot holes are murder around here. The worst I've ever seen. Stay alert.

Rolled her out yesterday, ran for about 20 minutes to circulate the fluids. Can't wait for spring to really get here, not this tease we just got. And the potholes - terrible. And I don't expect things to get much better soon with the budget problems all towns and cities are having. Hmm, maybe I should put the Volk 18s with RA1s on for spring street driving - more durable and more sidewall flex than the stock 19s.

I took mine to the local morning car show at the beach, must have been 1000 cars there. Then down the road to the local Porsche club autocross. Beautiful day, then on the way home, out of nowhere, no one in front of me, I hear a ping and I get a star on the windshield.

I go out later to put it in the garage and I now have a 6 inch crack. Anyone replace a windshield, what do I need to look out for? Most dealers farm out this work anyway, and I have full glass, I hope it cover it.

Call your insurance company. Many will replace them for free, with no deductible.

Default Why not driving already?

There's no reason why you can't drive these cars all year round. They're terrific fun in the snow. And with winter tires you can drive around all those lumbering SUV's and make fun of them. Seems a waste to leave them in the garage all winter and not enjoy them to the full when they're depreciating regardless of whether you drive them or not.

Should have had it out all winter like me. Watch for potholes - worst I've ever seen them.
