I lived and drove in that area for 4 years starting in May of 2000. I've seen some crazy drivers and the bad weather doesn't seem to have any affect on their speed.

I've seen cars whizzing by cars off the road -- in snowy weather -- without slowing down. It is like the cars off the road don't register.

Sad about the Porsche in amongst the mass of twisted vehicles.

Sincerely,

Macster.

The majority of drivers has no sense of what inertia is.

When the road is slippery and the guy behind me gets too close I purposely make my car fish tail and slide wildly. The guy behind me wakes up and drops back. Try it.

Of course you must have learned the proper technique when you were 16 in your parent's car in a snowy shopping mall parking lot.

Nope. Quite serious. Been using that tactic to scare off icy road tailgaters for 25+ years

EDIT: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have used the phrase "fishtail wildly" in my OP. I guess I was trying to describe the mental image I want to create in the tailgaters mind to scare him off. I as driver would never feel like I was going to lose control of the car. I can see how that can be misinterpreted, again: my bad.

I would question why the owner of the 996 is out driving
on a day like that.

I can't tell if it is a C4. However, this would be a good day
to keep the 911 in the garage.

Hmmm, I live in the area and was about 15 mins behind the accident, but driving my beater. Not sure of 996's, but do they have glass sunroofs? Looking at the images from the Kansas City Star, the yellow car appeared to have one.

It is not a 996 or 997. The rear wheel has 4 lug bolts, not 5.
