I don't think that E63 has a dual clutch setup, though... it replaces the typical torque converter w/ a wet clutch setup..
I have a last gen E63 and it's a great car for work (taking clients around) and doing errands. I live in Las Vegas so I can't help you with the snow question. From what I've read, the new E63 is a lot better with the double clutch tranny and suspension is a lot more sporty. The updated styling is also a lot better than mine too IMHO. But if I was in the market for a near 100k sedan I would look at the Panamera 4S especially if you need a car that will be driven in the snow.

Well, certainly if cost is no object. But we looked at several of the E series and a Panamera on the same day in November that we bought our 997.2S. Unless you go crazy with the options list, you can have a very nice E series for half the price of a Panamera.
I wouldn't pick an MB-E over the Porsche line -- demonstrably, we made the choice we did that day in question, and most of them were cheaper than a Carrera S by a very healthy chunk. Nevertheless, if we needed to supplement our S with a sedan, the E would be one of the first I'd consider.

I need a sedan as well, but I am waiting for the new 5 series, I want a gearshift car, and I like the feel of the BMW, and the 550 will have 400hp and easy to tune for more if needed. As far as winter weather, if we keep having winters like this one, sedans will not be going anywhere AWD or not.
