Default Tire for 997s (carrera s coupe 06)

Hi,
first of all,
I am not a tracker and not willing to go to track.
I'm just a normal car driver.
Somebody recommended me to use Hankook tire if so cause it is not a performance tire and it would last longer if I am not going to drive crazy.
What is the REAL TRUTH?
is the tire going to mass up my car?(even though I dont go to tracks>??)

If I have those hankook tire for REAR and have my original tires for FRONT.
the two tires gonna work differently ,right?
Is that going to harm car?

So, there has been a lot of good reviews about the tire I guess.
answer is I can use different brad for front and rear unless I drive more faster than 80 or go to track for dynamic drive?

CLICK HERE It seems like other people likes it?
What would I lose if I use Hankook tire?
Don't just say don't buy it it's not good. Please.
I really want to know specific reason. That's why I post the thread.
Again, I am asking this as a normal driver , not as a dynamic driver like trackers.
I don't go to track.

OK call me crazy but why on earth would you want to drive with a different make of tires in the front than in the rear....I know times are tough but really.

It's like having a cowboy boot on one foot and a sneaker on the other, just because you can doesn't mean you should!

It's not like you're driving a 20 year old beat up Toyota (right?)... but as you say a 997 S (easy a 60K car)!
Cut back on something else and buy yourself the matching rear tires, or instead of the stock 305's you can put 285's those are a lot less expensive, it's not the best but better than what you're about to do.
Your Porsche deserves nothing less not to mention personal safety is no joke.

Hope you find your pride of ownership back soon...

Sid.

You dont have any technical or specific reason.
I'm not a big fan of Hankook tire but I just want to know what is the fact.
What could really happen in technical wise.
The example of cowboy does not answer or help my wonders.
Help me.

For crying out loud, there's a page and a half of people talking about this very issue in that other thread. Just read it. That's your help. It's rude and unreasonable to expect everyone to re-say what they just said.

Seriously. I don't know how to say it any more clearly. People are, right now, talking in that other thread and answering your question in great detail.

here and here and here and in other posts in that thread I told you to read.

Just read that other flippin' thread. It's less than an hour old.

Everything is covered in the other thread. Basically, Hankook are ok tires, and you can save money, not my fave or most people around here.

However, putting TWO different kinds of tires front/rear (2 OEM tires + 2 ok tires) is TOTALLY WORSE than buying 4 cheap tires, it's absolutely not recommended.

On another note, I just don't understand why people buy Porsches and cannot afford proper tires for them... not that I can afford a brand new Porsche these days, but I certainly took into account some of these costs when I bought my CPO car.

Yes, I understand that, which is why I directed you to that other thread where several people have attempted to explain why.

Fkk
Based on the driving your talking. About any tire will work that is the proper size. At least till they fail and the blowout followed by severe left or right out of control spin will result in way more damage than those cheap tires will save you.

Do yourself a big favor buy good quailty matching tires. Then go for a drive and you will save time money and most likely your hide.

Good luck

I got the idea that putting two different brand tire would be really bad for car. I will read more in the thread. Thanks for the help.
