Fusebox - where to tap for an extra circuit?

I called the little brass colored item in the picture a piggy back connector, but the packaging says fuse tap. In any event, the picture also shows one "piggy backed" to a fuse. The fuse just plugs back into the circuit (preferably unused)you want to use and the connector is available to "tap" for power to your radar detector or whatever. I bought these at Radio Shack.

I got mine here. It's really an elegant solution... (BTW, this one is different from the one pictured above)

Three Wheelin'
Fuse Tap at NAPA - had wire coming out as well and I found matching connectors for my Passport wiring at Radio Shack so I didn't have to mod anything (other than the Fuse Tap) to connect it - all can come out and be same as new.

Tread carefully when you mess with the fuse box. Don't do something that will end up looking like a kluge job. Make it look like something that fits inside a $100,000 car.

There's a piece of carpet trim surrounding the fuse panel. Remove that trim and you will find locations where screws are secured to the body and will be suitable grounding points. You will have to pull off the door weatherstripping to remove the trim and can't remember if there are any screws; it may just snap in place, but it's obvious when you look at it and it's easily done.
