Believe the "new fine" is the court fees to "process" the previous infraction and is a revocation of bail for the already issued warning? What an unbelievable nightmare of a story. I would think that a court appearance would result in a refund of the $900? Eh, wait, make that I would HOPE a court appearance would result in a refund.

How kind of the court to offer to re-instate your license for a mere $900! Suggestion: contact your state representative and seek his/her assistance. This really is ridiculous.

The original ticket/fine was $190

you could pay the fine or FIX the ticket

I chose to FIX it and pay the $35 PROCESSING FEE instead.

So they $190 ticket turned into a $900 ticket at the end of all this BS.

Lets just say, after I spent hours on the phone and had no choice but to pay (see above for "choices" I had) I broke a few thing in my office that added to the $900 tab ;(

Actually they said, once I pay the fine. The case is closed and I can not go to court to get the money back.

When you go up against OUR Government only 1 person is guaranteed to lose/pay.... US the taxpayers!

Just talking about it again make me mad and I want to break something else.

That $900 could have done some nice mods to my car

Best thing to do for the future IMHO...

Get a bracket. Your can just keep it in the car. If ever in santa monica or BH etc. parked a parking enforcement can give you a front plate ticket *complain* while your car is parked So if ever in those areas you can pop it on then take it off when leaving

If driving and its off and you get pulled over - hopefully not - u can say i have it in the car but it came a bit loose and i just took it off and need to get it fixed and throw it on right there if they are cool.
