My local dealership has closed
Porsche of Lexington (Kentucky) was closed by PCNA as of 11/30. They were a Premier Dealer and provided awesome service, though I didn't actually buy my 07 C2S from them. I had my car serviced there 2 weeks ago and there was no indication that this was happening. A partner of mine just purchased a 2010 GT3 from them, and they seemed (from the outside) to be doing well for a relatively small dealership. Anyone know of other dealerships closing?

GS... does Baton Rouge actually have a Porsche dealership now? I mean a real dealership.
When I last checked.. admittedly quite a while ago... over a decade ago... they only had an outbuilding on the side of Florida Boulevard way out in the boonies.

It's on airline hwy now - It's one of the new look "audi/porsche" stores built in about 2003. The shop has recently been upgraded and is very nice.
They have two great porsche tech's Glen & Vinny - The service writer's Dawn and Steven are also very pleasant. They seem to be helpful with loaners if you can work with them they can work with you as everyone takes pride in customer satisfaction.
On the sales end - I'd go with Dick Leblanc - he's the old school cat - been racing since the 50's.
--really talking about service- and taking care of your porsche - it is in great hands in the shop. No worries - and they also offer competitive pricing on mods that they will back through the dealership.
Cheers,
GS

Handfuls have closed or will close. Expected after last year's dismal sales records (lows) and limited chance of any recovery for some markets. And of course there are probably a few dealers who were way over extended to Porsche credit for their floor plan, and it would have taken years to get out.
We had one NC dealer go under so far (small town), but it was re-acquired by a principal who had sold it years ago, and hopefully he can turn it around.

PCNA closed the dealership in Des Moines early this year. I was told the dealer didn't want to invest in the new building that PCNA was demanding. I have purchased 3 new Porsches in the last 7 years a 02 996C4S, a Pepper S and a 07 997C4S Cab. I will never buy another new Porsche since I would have drive it, or trailer it to Omaha for warrenty issues.

Which NC dealer, Asheville, Fayetteville? Just curious. I know, or at least think it wasn't Leith, Hendrick, Performance, or the Greensboro dealer.

Hickory.
Paramount (Benny Yount) was sold, and the owners took it into the ground. But that was a couple years ago. Benny just bought it back, but he's combined it with the likes of Kia....and other lower end lines, and PCNA is not too happy from what I hear.
But Hickory is a pretty tiny market, and many customers from that area shop at Hendrick in Charlotte or Deal in Asheville.
Oh, and yeah, Benny owns Foreign Cars Italia too.
