Paint protection film is 8-8.5 mils thick...a significant difference in protection.
This is the first bad thing I've heard about Plexus with respect to caring for the film.

What product(s) do you recommend?

No doubt plenty of the East coast would enjoy getting a bit of advice and if more people get great jobs done, they'll be more likely to say so and therefore more people will be interesting in having one done by proper installers. If they are in your area that might mean more business for you as well. Anyway, I really don't see a down side for you in sharing any info you may have in good installers located in areas far removed from you.
If you don't have any idea that is fine as well, but it would seem a bit odd.
Thanks for your response. Here is the questions again:
My apologies. I missed your post / questions. In your part of the area, we do not know of any reputable installers. We used to know a few, but they have either gone out of business or started to produce inconsistent results.

We used to use Plexus until we started seeing yellowing in some of our customers film. We contracted a chemicals company to see if there are problems with either Rejex and Plexus for the films. The result came back for Plexus's butane that ends up drying (or burning) out the pores of the film. If the vehicle is driven right away, the dirt / dust tends to collect in these open pores immediately and over time causes the film to degrade.

We contracted the same chemical components company to have them start from scratch create a product that is safe and effective for paint protection film. This was then launched approximately 1.5 year ago. We apply the Crystalline onto every single car that comes through our facilities after an installation is completed.

Here is also our newly launched (not yet on our website) our TTR line. Works exceptionally well to remove hard to remove transfer:

Thanks Premier.
I'm not totally sold on the clear bra, but only consider it if I had total assurance of a perfect job.
If I ever make it West w/ the C2S and the paint job is still worth protecting I'll give you a shout.

The problem is that most installations are not quite there in terms of clarity / consistency. In that sense, it gives many people a sense that this type of product is pretty visible when in fact it can be pretty "clear".

If you are ever in the West, do come by! We are always open to showcasing our work.

HAPPY NEW YEAR RENNLISTERS!!!!

Does Premier use 3M (the best film available) or Venture (not so good)?

We actually carry both. Out of curiosity, how did you come about deciding one is better than the other? There really isn't a "best film" category in paint protection film. It all comes down to the installation that is the most important.

Bump on the durability question and if left on the car for say 5 plus years is there likely to be any negative impacts on the paint?

No negative impact on OEM paint. Aftermarket paint is another story. For those thinking about having this done, be sure to contract an excellent painter. Many paint / bodyshops do not produce stellar work and very often, if the aftermarket paint is NOt prepped and primed well, the film can lift it off.

Even if you leave the film on for 5 yrs and then remove it, the film would not harm the paint. Nor would it leave a two tone effect as the film does allow UV rays to penetrate (unlike traditional leather bras that block off 100% of UVs).

Can someone refer me to a company in Montreal Canada that would apply this type of product or do you think only Porsche can offer it?
