Parked Next To A Corvette Z-6 Yesterday--Certainly Different Types of Owners

The Vettes are now in GT2. Different car than the one racing in GT1. That race - the last 09 ALMS race at Laguna Seca was a battle royal, and I agree that the Vettes were bully. They will offer strong competition next year, and competition is good.

I didn't like Vettes until the current model, Z06 especially. I only drove a C6 once so I can't comment on the overall package like those who have owned one, but it seems like a very good value for the performance.
Are they really that bad for reliability & build quality? The newest ones?

Quality and workmanship is another issue.
When all the smoke clears, a Corvette is just a bored out
Chevy pick up truck engine -- the old 5.7 Litre, 350 workhorse.

A Z-06 is a hell of a lot of car for the money. The ZR-1's are amazing.
A Z06 will blow a 997 outta the water! There are always plus and minusus with all cars, I love them all.

Had on 08 C6. A very fast car. The only thing I could really complain about was the seats which is a common complaint of the vette. Otherwise it was a fun car which gave me zero problems.

Yesterday, I had to run to the mall to pick up a few bottles of wine for
Thanksgiving gifts and while I was looking for the perfect safe parking
spot amongst the sea of minivans and Camrys, I saw a suitable
spot, right next to a red Z-6 (albeit, 6 blocks away from the mall--my girlfriend
knows the routine--I drop her off at the doors and I meet her twenty
minutes later after I park).
I parked next to the Z-6 and took a look at the lines of it and compared
them to my 997.
I must say, the 997 is so much better looking and more refined
and polished looking than the Corvette. The Corvette looked
like a rattle trap and did not exude any elements of sophistication
and or heritage. The plastic GM sign on the lower side panels didn't
help its look either.
When I looked in the Corvette, on the passenger seat was a
UFC fighting magazine, a NASCAR jacket, and a 3 empty cans
of Bud Light.
Good or bad, the Corvette crowd is certainly different than the Porsche 911 crowd....![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)

I just hate ignorance. I do not think my style or habits change when I go from Vette to Porsche to Vette (and soon again to Porsche). We are all enthusiasts.
