Default Can you get the trip computer display at the bottom of the rev counter...

...to display the track names etc when playing a mp3 CD on a 997.1 car?

At the moment, the PCM display will give the track name, artist etc but the display in the rev counter simply says

CDS 1 Tx

where x is the track number.

Any ideas?

Click into the audio menu - similar to checking the oil, tpms, phone dialing, etc.

I get almost everything on the bottom of the tack Nav instructions and Song titles.
I use the computer stalk.

There are several other features of the OBC that can be accessed from the stalk as well. You don't really need the manual as they are pretty self explanatory - just push the stalk in and fish around - definitely more to it than checking the oil level.

I push the Stalk in, up/down to select Audio (just below Chrono) - then either the track#(DVD), Track Name (iPod), or Station (SAT) is displayed - and up/down+push will select next/previous track, song, or station.

Could be a ".2" thing?

I'm sure it's a .2 thing. Since Porsche didn't offer iPod hook ups until the .2 cars, it's possible that they didn't include the capability to display track NAMES, because that option (iPOD) isn't offered. When I'm playing a properly recorded MP3-formatted CD (with album names, and track names recorded with the data) the information shows up on the PCM screen but never on the tach screen.

Dan's right. My 08 .1 had nav, phone integration and so on but did not have these display options. My 09 .2, with essentially the same options, has them including being able to make calls etc.
