Congrats on the new car.

PS Speaking as a PhD in mathematics, can't we all just get along.....

Wow. The brilliance of your logic astounds me.

Old Guy, why don't you stick to your rocking chair. And leave the thinking to trained professionals.
Ben,
Please don't repeat the mistakes of your Rennlist past again
Please try and focus on contributions, not personal criticisms.
Thank you.

ltc,

Please read the chronological sequence of posts before making personal criticisms.

And don't repeat the mistakes of others by punishing the one who throws the retaliatory punch.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Thank you.

Ben,
Note that each time I said "please"... I was merely trying to avoid the inevitable.
BTW, check your PM, I think you may have something from the Admin.

You need to ask that of a physicist not a mathematician.

It's purely a physical concept that falls under the domain of kinematics, which falls under classical mechanics, a major branch of physics. Mathematics is just an analytical tool used for describing physical phenomena.

I remember doing velocity in Calculus. Are we talking about some other kind of velocity that is specific to Physics?

Did the dealer mention a trunk monkey or in this case a hood monkey?

No, this is velocity of Porsche - it's different...better...Geschwindigkeit!

You guys know you can Google a physics or calc lesson or two and find holes in most of what has been posted as well as clear answers. It's been...well...a few years for me since Phys101 or Calc101, so that's what I did.

I do see the rate of change of acceleration for this topic is a bit high. Smooth on the pedals is usually best.
