Re to your forum name - dD/dt - What is the 'D' that you are taking the time derivative of?

Congratulations and thanks for the nice posting. May you enjoy that fine Porsche for many years. As you no doubt have guessed by now, you have corrupted another youth of America with exposure to a Porsche at such an early age. His fate is now not in your hands, but in the hands of some marketeer in Ludwigsberg (the marketing shop for Porsche). It's quite evident that there are two little boys in that family, and neither have learned to sop playing with cars. Heaven knows I haven't.

Nice ride. Enjoy!

If I had been at this photo shoot I'd have been wrestling with your boy to get in the driver's seat!

That's a great color combo you have there and it looks especially classy with those wheels. Great choice!

Thanks for all the great feedback! My daughter was baptized today, so I've only managed to put a bit over 100 miles on the new car this weekend. This has included a couple grocery runs, and the 997 is clearly better than any car I've driven at picking up a cake from the bakery.

The 'D' in my name is distance, the first derivative of distance with respect to time being speed. When I signed up, I tried to get dV/dt, acceleration, which is really what I enjoy more anyway, but someone else had already taken it. What a bunch of nerds hang out on here...

My only point of comparison for this car is my old Carrera 3.2. It really is amazing how far the cockpit interface has come since then. Although my car was a 1988, most of the switchgear was largely unchanged from the 1960's. The 997 is as advanced as anything else out there. Also, the nav system on the 997.2 is the best I've seen in any car.

One of the fun things about driving this car is that it is so well planted (especially compared to my old one, which would swing its *** out in a curve without much provocation), but it never lost the feeling of being a rear-engined car.

Many miles ahead.....

Congrats! I love that blue. I've bought my 996 from Pepe, and the sales guy was a frenchman called Roger. I did not have a great experience. I'm glad it worked out for you. what was the % discount you got over MSRP?

That is usually expressed as V=dx/dt. Velocity is the first derivative of position with respect to time.
