Default OEM cats - anyone keep them?

Hi folks - has anyone kept a set of OEM cats after installing Fabspeed or AWE units? I'm in need of replacements and imagine that there are probably more than a few pair stashed in garages or closets.

I've got a set from my car as I just added a full AWE exhaust. Not sure if I want to part with them just yet though in case I might want to return my car to stock. To be honest, I'm not even sure what I'd ask for them.

You may want to check with one of the vendors that sell/install cats. They may have some laying around that they will part with. The person I bought my AWE cats from was able to pick up a set of OEM cats from one of these vendors.

PM me for details.

I just took a set off my car (Friday), and put on the PSE. It is a 997.2 and you are not specific about which generation you are looking for.

PM me if you wish.

Believe that the same CATS remain with PSE upgrade.

Keep your cats as they are expensive to replace should you need to buy new.

Nexus-6: I might have a set for you in the shop. Email Joey@fabspeed.com for a more direct line on communication.

Nexus-6: Your stock cats are covered under warranty for many years (longer than the new car warranty). If yours have failed, just drive to the dealer and get new ones for free. It is unclear from your first post whether or not you have your original cats still, but I though I would offer this just in case.

This is correct....I just had my passenger side cat replaced for nothing. I believe they are covered for 8 years or 80k miles.

Hi guys - sorry for the lack of details last night.

I'm looking for a pair of OEM cats for a 997.1 - lower miles would be better of course. Mine have 60K on them and the dealer states they do not need to be replaced, but they have been smelling quite a bit lately and the exhaust note has become inconsistent in the past 2K miles. Unless they throw a inefficiency code, they won't replace 'em. I see where they are coming from, but it's a bummer - they acknowledge that they are likely on the way out, but can't do anything until there's a code to react to.

Anyhow, I figured it's worth a shot replacing them to see if that fixes it. PM me if anyone has a set they'd like to sell.

Cheers!
