I've personally a customer of Premier's for past four years and the color of my cars ranged from white, yellow, and black. They've all looked great. For my 6GT3, I've had the bra on the car for over 20k miles now and it still looks great. I've had to replace the front bumper once due to a mishap on Thunderhill, but no damage to the paint. I've seen my fair share of bras on car and will give my #1 thumbs up to Premier. Getting the right people to touch your car is so important.

A dealer I've been working with (in preparation for my first pcar) is telling me that he doesn't recommend clear bras, because they "reduce the value of the car." From what I gather reading rennlist, clear bras are removable without issue; any idea what he could be talking about?

(I know whether they look good is another story, & who installs the thing is a big issue -- thanks everyone for taking the time to share photos & mention your favorite installers! It's really helpful.)

Are you saying that an owner who puts this on his car takes it up the rear?
or does saying an object is "gay" have a totally different meaning?
I am just curious.

There's no way to type this without being offensive so I'll just type it... your dealer is ignorant and ill informed.

As many have posted on this thread a good quality clear bra, installed properly (and the installer remains the key, IMO) will not hurt your resale value. In fact, it might help. You can't see seams, they don't yellow, they do require some extra care (Plexus every once in a while) but they will protect your car and they're readily removable.

There are plenty of well informed, honest dealers out there... with respect... move on.

...interested in the response myself.
On a side note the poster that suggested the saran wrap diminishes value is probably right. At the dealer the visqueen cars stand out like a sore thumb.

It's simple... it means the individual who posted this statement is a homophobic idiot.

Honestly folks, aren't we beyond the 6th grade? Are we really that ignorant that calling things "gay" is acceptable? I have to believe that based on statistics there are homosexual Porsche owners and they visit these boards. And if that's true then stupid statements like the one questioned above make us all look bad.

Agree with Da Hapa. The dealer that said that paint protection film diminishes the value of the car is ignorant. First, the film is removable. 2nd, whether it is a lease or owned vehicle, at a point when the vehicle is brought in for trade in, private sale, or lease return, someone will inspect the vehicle. People will then look at the overall condition of the vehicle, which will certainly hurt when the front end is full of chips and dings.

Anyone who plans to track their car needs to do this before they hit the track.....
It's one of my biggest regrets, not having it done on my Cabriolet.
That's been fixed on my GT3!!

I think the OP is just using "gay" as one might use the word "lame", just as a common saying, not necessary derogatory towards homosexuals. While it might not be the most appropriate word today, our country has become so ridiculously P.C. that we forget the original meaning of most words, which in this case is merry.
I can see where using the word "gay" as he did could be totally fine, and a good fit. Who knows what homosexuals are going to insist on being referred to as in the future.
Anyway, so long as gays, blacks, and others choose to openly refer to each other publicly with such implied derogatory words, this double standard brings more confusion than credibility.

Can anyone recommend a quality installer in Houston? I found one guy named Steve Perez but I dont have any information about his capabilities. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

I can understand that Premier is somewhat biased towards clear bras, duh........ but can say that after having 3 of them, albeit not the full car, and just going up half way on the front, i have the following observations:
1. There are still road chips above where the bra was. So unless you are doing the full front, it does not matter.
2. The car does not look as good nor perfect with the bra on, no matter how good the installer after a period of time. It gets somewhat dull and looks bad.
3. Now that the bra is off, the car looks flawless, EXCEPT for the line accross the car where the bra was. I have had it orbed and hand waxed and I can tell it is there.

I would never ever put another bra on, for those of you who have it and love it, that is great, however, i dont know how long it has been on your car but after a bunch of miles and years we shall see how you feel.

It kind of reminds me of my mother who kept plastic on the "good" furniture. I guess who ever you sell your car to will enjoy the clean look of no bra as you will take it off when you sell it, however, did you enjoy the look to its fullest with it on? I think not, enjoy your car, enjoy the nicks, at the end of the day you want a bra wear it, if not dont. I prefer to go braless

I am not a fan of clear film, from an appearance standpoint....HOWEVER, if I lived near Premier or Detailing Dynamics, I'd be hard pressed not to do it. I've seen DD's work personally on cars that were sent there for film, and I'm sure Premier is equally qualified....but I've not seen as many great looking film jobs otherwise. We have a great local guy here who does good work too, I'm just not a fan of the overall appearance.

The rear panels on my new Turbo Cab have turned yellow already, and will likely be replaced with something better. What is Porsche thinking?

On another note, Premier posted something not long ago about a new tint product that resists heat but has less darkness to it....what became of that product guys?

Oops, found it! Resurrected that thread....
