Traqmate and Chase cam (integrated, automatic, easy to remove, overlaps video with data, etc.) Do a search here and especially at the Racing / DE forum on "Traqmate" and you'll get dozens of reports on it and other systems.

I'm a happy Traqmate user. My impression is that they're sort of easy to outgrow but so far I haven't yet. If you ever decide to do anything fancy with inputs (throttle position sensor, rpm sensors, etc...) I think you'd be better off with a less consumer-oriented device. While the Traqmate can do some external sensors the company doesn't really seem focused on that market and it shows in their support and the community.
ChaseCam would be the obvious add-on to a Traqmate, but they're pricey (especially for SD). I've got three helmetcamera.com rigs that I use for video and I don't recommend them. They were awesome a few years ago but the marketplace for in-car/sports video has really exploded recently and there are far better options out there. A friend of mine has a VHOLDR camera and I'm really impressed by it. I'll probably replace my helmetcamera units with the upcoming VHOLDR HD cameras when they hit the street next month.
I'm a big fan of multi camera setups. It makes for a much more interesting video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xB_IrP0nfU

I know you're a fellow Mac guy. Have you had any real success running the race-keeper software on your Mac? Are there any settings of importance in setting up Parallels or other virtual product? Finally, have you been able to export the movies in your Mac?
I figured I'd post instead of PM'ing since others may have the same Qs.
I'm asking because the Pawxster is going to get a video & data aq system this winter.

Comparo seems to work just fine.
At the present there is no video/data export ala Tracmate but I hear that it is forthcoming.
To export video I found a program called Oxelon Media Converter.
I have fooled around w/Tracmate and have found that Race-Keeper Integrated
video/data much more intuitive and easy to use. Data plots are what tell you what you are doing!
