I think 20" looks bad on a 997. Sort of like the car is wearing clown shoes.

If your leaving the body stock I would do 19's. If your lowering it and doing a front spoiler and side skirts I think 20's look better. But I can see how most dont like them simply because of the ride quality. On the Turbos i have driven both and didn't really notice a difference.
When I'm driving I have no idea what they look like. I can certainly feel how they drive however. If I didn't live in the place with the crappiest roads known to man I would love 19's. My consideration to go 18's is purely driven by the amount of potholes we deal with around Detroit.

My C4S, now on 18" snows, rides SO MUCH better than on the 19" OE wheels. Did I lose some road feel and turn-in sharpness? Yes. But the ride is so much freakin better. S-PASM btw.

You really want bling to put 20" 's on a 911. Certainly no justification from a driving dynamics standpoint.

Will these fit a 997.2 'S' or is the offset/backspace wrong?

Thanks

No, these are for widebody 997 (C4, C4S, Turbo, GT3) fitment only, due to the offsets and 12" rear wheel width.
