Was browsing old photos form my April 2008 trip to the factory. They were rolling a "cut out" Cayman into the old museum. Took some photos of the Adaptive seats. Thought you might be interested. Need to get back there for some driving and to visit the new museum.

I don't see the appeal in those seats. I like the standard Sport seats, but the adaptive feature only added pain in my experience. Maybe they help if you are thin and short, but most average Americans will find them tight before adding the adaptive feature. (This is from personal experience, not any formal research.) For the price I would rather have better 4 point seat belts, thigh supports that extend, and ventilation in the seats. Also, how about a high quality fabric option?

Those pics show clearly why I prefer manual seats - failure prone motors and inflatable bladders, along with added weight. The manual sports seat is just fine.

Another reason I dislike motorized seats is how slow they are to move from one position to another (say front-to-back) which is much quicker with a manual lever.

On a recent day at the track I really appreciated the thigh and torso bolsters that were adjustable to the point of being very snug.
Taking all of the air out of the bladders and cinching up the bolsters was perfect.
It's a shame they are so heavy - but they flat out work.

I would have preferred to get the manual seats to save a few lbs but when I sat in one in the showroom I couldn't get it to a comfortable position. So I got the adaptive sports seats.

I appreciate the ability to change several parameters electronically because of a bad back. On lengthy trips (which I do a lot) these things are quite handy. Complex? Sure, but then, so is pretty much everything these days.

I only wish the adaptives were ventilated......if so, there would be minimal decision on a new Porsche.
I just drove two vehicles, one with standard sports seats electrically adjustable w/heat and ventilation. The other with adaptives.
I could live with either. I'm medium build, 6', 180. Nothing overly exciting about either seat that would push me one way or the other. But I do like ventilation (have it on other vehicles).....
