I agree the wind noise in the cabin of the 997.2 Cabrio is higher than I think appropriate for 2009 luxury sports car (in terms of road noise from the tires and little air-leak whistles and turbulence around the soft top.) Still, driving the 997.1 GT3 back-to-back with the Cabrio, the GT3 is louder (ignoring the stiffer suspension, it's just plain louder in the cabin.
I'm getting great value out of the Cabrio, so I don't mind the noise above 65 mph, and I doubt I'd replace it with a coupe because of the noise. I think a hardtop, though absurdly expensive, might go into my next order.
