You're not telling us where this is, but discounting that, it is too high. That's a lot of miles and it's an 05. Low mileage 06 S cars have been selling for $50K. (I'm talking about mileages of less than 10,000)

It all depends how bad you want the options, my next Porsche will have PCCB and that will come with a price. If you only care for a C2S with a great price just keep looking.

I haven't seen a lot of super low mile 2006 "S" models
that are in excellent condition for $50k.

Where is your source?

Considering I paid $65K 18 months ago I think it is a great deal. Surpised "S" cars are trading below $50K.

Hate to say it but 996 and 997 are not going to hold value as well as prior Porsches.
Specially rigth now as it is a buyers market.
S and non S are not as desirable as a GT3 and GT2. even the mighty Turbo is depreciating fast

Oppss, wanted to say that you buy this kind of car for the love of it. If you do not get excited about starting your Porsche, do not buy it, you will never start thinking about cost of ownership.

That is the truth.

There is not another car that the 911 can be compared to.

Putting the key in the ignition on the wrong side of the steering wheel and listening to that flat 6 boxer engine growl never gets old.

Even though the car is fuel injected and as smooth a silk, I always
find it necessary to rev it up a bit right after start, just to make sure everything
is running fine.

Find a nice 997 and buy it -- you will never regret it.

As a comparison, I just paid $49K for a 2006 C2S Coupe with 9000 miles, a year of factory warranty left, and plenty of options (PASM, NAV, Heated/Power/Memory Seats, Leather, etc.). Definitely sounds high to me in the current market.

Appreciate everyone's input.

What would be a reasonable offer? 46k?

I'd recommend doing a search on cars.com to get some comps. A quick search suggests that $46K is low. The least expensive CPO 997S Coupe is an '06 with over 40K miles and asking price is $52K. The car you describe sounds nicer, has lower miles, etc. Seems to me if you can get it for $46K-$48K it was a solid deal. If you like, I'd pull the trigger. Note: Looking at cars.com, CPO really seems to drive up the price, but that figures.

Yah I think 47/48 would be a good deal. CPO is a requirement for me, I don't want a headache/money pit.

I know personally of several guys who have bought cars in my area for around $50K for 06 S coupes with minor mileage,--like around 8000-9000 miles. Another was a 06 S Cabriolet for $61K with 8500 miles. Toss that into your data pile.

Default MMR

If you want the most current pricing info you need the MMR (Manheim Market Report). This is what dealers use, not Blue Book, Edmunds, etc. The banks and dealers want the most upto date information, which is MMR. MMR is kept under wraps and dealers usually will not divulge the true results and if you look online you'll see articles discussing this and how it is next to impossible for non-dealers to get this protected information. Here is the latest MMR for the 2006 C2S:

For entire month of Aug. Average sale price: $44,900

For Week Ending Aug 23
........................... Above....... Average....... Below
Sale Price: ....... $54,781........ $46,781....... $38,781
Ave. Mileage ........ 14,489....... 28,977.......... 43,466
Total Sold All: ....... 14

Month ...................... Jun 2009....... Feb 2009......... Aug 2008
Ave Sale Price: ......... $45,495 ......... $47,080 ......... $61,315.........
Ave Mileage:............... 34,061......... 24,778............ 19,600.........
Total sold ................... 10 .................... 15.................. 10

These are factual reports. The deals are good on used 2006's, and it is a definite buyer's market with a huge selection to choose from.

Interesting data point. But the total sold looks very low, so it's not clear what segment this really represents. Also seems like the numbers might include "trade in" & "wholesale" sales as well. It can't be just "retail", the below $38,781 is way too low.
