My new car!! Woo-Woo!!
So after owning a 2003 Boxster S for 6 years I decided to trade it in for a 2009 Carrera S.
I felt like I was abandoning a child leaving the Boxster S at the dealership, but that pain was soothed by driving the 997S home. The power is VERY nice, the car seems HUGE compared to my Boxster.
Funny story;
I was driving home from the dealer and noticed the HPD guy behind me in the fast lane of the freeway. Looking down I noticed I was doing ten over. OOOPS. I changed lanes and he passed me, waggling his finger at me as he passed.
Guess he saw the paper tags and cut me some slack. Maybe just a nice guy, I dunno.
I've had the car for a couple of months now and am still somewhat intimidated by it. I knew my Boxster and having tracked it several times I felt in charge. The beast-in-the-back is going to take some time to tame.
Look forward to going to the track and seeing the difference between the two cars, although I feel that the extra horses will cover up some mistakes. The Box was great but if you screwed up a turn it took a while to recover. I think that HP will make me appear better and hope that the back end passing me doesn't affect my confidence.
