Default anyone have done lower your 997 by yourself?

I just ordered a H&R lowering spring for my 997S.
Just wondering if anyone has done it by yourself.
Is there any DIY link that I can use as reference?
I have done many BMWs and do have professional tools as well...
so if it's not too difficult, I'd like to do it myself.
I just have to figure out how to remove the rear panels for rear shocks.

Can you weigh the car after you've done this? (Corner scales).

I'll also take some pictures and measure the height for before/after lowering springs. I'll lift up my car (for the first time) and check to see if the job is doable. I've checked the front and looks like it's pretty much straight forward job but haven't really get a chance to check the rears.

Locus, If you've done other cars, the 997 is not that hard. You dont even need to disconnect the brake lines from the calipers. Just hang them with a wire so the weigh is not carried by the flex line while you're working on them. The shock tower nuts take only 18 ft/lbs of torques.
I could tell you that non of the allignment links(ones with ecentric bolts for adjustments of toes etc) need to be disconnected. But the front trailing arms and steering links have to be loosened.

thanks Mike,
I haven't get a chance to check the rears, how did you remove the rear shocks?
normal cars (which have rear trunk) are really simple, just remove rear trunk panels/covers inside the trunk and remove 2 bolts.
you have to remove to interior panels, right?
I really don't want to crack or break any inner panels.

locus, also on the front, the "A" arm aft leg, loosen the inboard bolt(no need to remove the bolt all the way out). That will allow you to lower the whole A arom to facilitate the pulling outward of the shock/spring.

For the rear, its all just foam behind the rear seat to access the shock towers. These foams are already pre cut and can be pulled. Just pull them carefully. below them, there will be a second sound proofing with adhesive tape. Just pull that carefully so you could reuses it. not that hard really.

Locus,

I recommend that you drive the car for about a week before you get an allignment. Then a follow up check after a couple of months.
