If you track the car the X51 upgrade from 385 to 405 US HP is perhaps worth it. If not forget it.

If the 997.2 turbo has PDK it's a far bet that it has he new DFI engine since the PDK does not fit on the GT1 engine apparently.

Forget the notion of sticking a GT3 engine in the car, it can be done but it would be cheaper to buy a new GT3!

But what if you don't want the GT3's relatively stripped down chassis and cabin, and would much rather have the extra sound insulation, the rear seats, and all the luxury items that are not available on the street race car version, while still desiring the more powerful powerplant?

The X-51 is a great option, but like the car itself, it is a better buy used. Unlike, say, the aero kit, or the PCCB brakes, the difference is not subtle. I don't know about the option on the 997.2 car but I will keep my eyes open for one when I am back in the market.

Look at buying a Turbo, that's what it's for.

BINGO

I have it on my current car and will consider it on my next. I'm not buying it for resale. I'm buying it for me.......just like the guy who pays 10K for a set of wheels and tires. Or maybe the like the guy who put's 8k into a stereo upgrade. Did I bring up PCCB's? I'm glad that Porsche let's me have a choice. I don't want a GT3. My car is on the track 2X a year and I need a back seat.

Wouldn't it still be cheaper and easier to buy a GT3 and put luxury items in it??
