It seems like the issue wasn't about the cars getting hit by the errant sprinkler. It seems like the issue was the hotel's poor initial response and immediate discount to complaints coming from car enthusiasts that chose their property for a visit. That was the real mistake.

As for posts from fellow Porsche enthusiasts that can't make the thought leap on why some owners enjoy the beauty of their cars, well, that I don't follow. While there may be avid trackers, that shouldn't translate into a lack of affinity in enjoying how are cars look, either. For in that case, scrape the paint off and shave a couple pounds.
