first road trip -- short report
In San Luis Obispo after some semi-twisties in the Motherlode, some really bad interstate in the Bay Area,, some country roads in Monterey and SLO counties, some really twisty road in Montana de Oro State Park by the beach.
In Santa Cruz, in Monterey, everyone loves the car, especially me! Over 1,000 miles this week so far, and heading back to the foothills tomorrow.
I get tired long before the car does, and it performs just great. LOOOOVE the sound of the PSE. Kicks in at the right time, IMHO, with a very classy sound. You don't have to attract attention at every stoplight with PSE. If I wanted that, I'd ride a Harley. . .
And OF COURSE, the clear side markers make the look.
Rank opinion: for a non-trackster, the suspension is just fine the way it is. Feels great, and I think it looks great, despite the unsightly gap of an unlowered car!
All in all, nothing but joy, no problems (except some anxiety when I hit a "loose gravel" resurfacing zone on 101 suddenly). No harm done.
I just wanted to report a "no problem" cruise, especially to the newbs like me. Drive it hard and it will love you back.

Great to hear you're enjoying the car!

One lap at Barber sold me on the the new PDK, and I am a 6 speed diehard.
Forget your preconceived notions, biases and preferences. This car changes it all, see my avatar.
"Back to back" to drives, today, versus the RS confirms that the PDK is a winner, (and you could only pry the RS from my cold dead hands).
PS
The "Wifey" loves it too

A big thank you to Porsche of Fremont! The best Dealer in the South Bay area.

I also agree that Fletcher Jones (Porsche of Fremont) has indeed the best sales and service department in the SF Bay Area.

good roads, CHP worries
I find it difficult to observe the posted speed limits, it seems, in the 911. Hmm.
Now I have to make the decision on early oil change / no early oil change. Drove it pretty hard at times.
