Newbie here and am looking at an 09 and have run across an option "PAG - Launch Car". I tried search and other than the 'what happens after June 1' thread, I can't find much. What is this? Looking at either a Malachite Green C2 cab or a Ruby Red C4S cab for my wife.

Think of a launch car as something like a spec house. Porsche decides on the configuration rather than the dealer or customer. They are built in quantity so that you can walk into your local dealer to test drive the various models.

They have many of these leftover. I think they spec-ed them poorly. Does it have PDK? Sports Chrono?

The C4S has PDK, SC, Nav, BT, Heated seats and wheel, full leather, Bose and lots more. Not sure if the C2 is a launch car, but is comparable - but no SC.

I was aware of the ruby red c4s, but not the green cab. If I were you, I'd get the C4s, it's better equiped and there is a dealer in your area who may have one he'd like to sell quickly!!!

Lots (80+) of C4S "launch cars" with "Sport Bucket Seats" are around...bet you can get them for close to invoice
or less.

I hadn't driven the C4S until tonight, only drove the C2 on Saturday...OMG huge difference, but that green is beautiful and pretty rare. The only other one I've seen was a 2008 turbo Cab in New York. Decisions decisions.

most people think that green launch color is pretty awful, if that is what you are considering, you will get a great deal on it...

What would be invoice on this? I like the spec on this one except that the exterior colour is not my preferred choice, and also I'd rather have a regular C2S than a C4S (I am not convinced about the 4W drive)

i thought the launch cars were Porsche racing green in c2s form and aqua blue in c2s cab form. All the dealers have those- when doing my search I couldnt find a malachite green.

The malachite green wasn't a launch car. That was one the dealer spec'd and ordered. Beautiful car, but too bad it is just a C2 Cab. The ruby red was a launch car.

The green launch coupe was a Porsche Racing Green car we still have one in stock and we have a ruby red C4s cab launch car. Many dealers still have some since each dealer got at least one of each.

I have a C4S launch car. It's specced much as I would've done it except for PDK - I kind of "took a chance" there. I do like it, but I think my next Porsche will be a manual (and custom-ordered). Generally launch cars have all kinds of unnecessary crap, but the C4S got a bunch of goodies, IMO. I love the sport buckets...
