I've had 12 of these cars, none with that option. I seldom look out the rear window, I'm more concerned with the stuff in front of me.

I just removed the rear wiper on my 997. It came with the car...apparently the previous owner ordered it from the factory. I hated the look of the wiper..it was an eye sore! The rear windshield is slopped enough to not hold any water so I don't see the point.

FWIW, the uninstall was easy! I used an elevator bolt, washers, a nut and some silicon to plug the hole

Pictures beachview? Mine has one and I've always wondering if it was a pain in the *** to get rid of.

Not necessary given the slope of the car in my opinion I never once have thought, "man, I wish I had a rear wiper," and I live in FL with crazy rain plus, I hear the drag from it limits my top speed....:-)

As others have stated, I can see it coming in handy with snow. But that's about it.

I drive my car all winter long in Chicago and I've never even needed it in the snow. I've found the rear defroster is very effective at keeping snow from accumulating.

If you don't like it then don't buy it.

Mine fell off after a car wash. $86 for a replacement. Damn!
