Chipmunkbob might be referring to the car at Barrier ($74,995) unless he's talking about a similar car at Roger Jobs in Bellingham ($79,000).

$74,995 - $79,000 IMO is way overpriced... $64k - $65k maybe...

The Barrier car matches his description perfectly, including being a tiptronic. The Bellingham one is an 08 and doesn't have the right wheels.

Exactly! The car at Barrier says 15xx miles but still matches all the other options. Probably means the car has been seating on the lot for a while with lots of test drives and no deals. With that asking price will seat forever... IMHO

Agree that 55k is not realistic for a '07 CPO, I think the asking price is off by 10%, 67k is a great deal for the dealer, I would think 60-62k and go from there. Also, in my opinion, Tip is a minus to that car.

I purposely did not list the price because I wanted you all to give me your ideas. Let's just say that the price is a little less than asking, but not by much.

It is not the one in Bellingham, so there you go.

I did several searches on the internet and saw a great disparity in prices. Hence my questions to all of you.

As an ex-SCCA racer for several seasons (SSC) and someone who was turning faster laps than most at the parade '07 autocross in my 993 tip I don't consider tip a detraction at all (although on the street I always have it in manual). To each his own I guess... ;-)

Keep in mind, that we're a little stronger out here than you'll see on thje East Coast for used car prices.

The reason why Edmunds, etc. asks for a zip code.

Play hardball. I walked away from an offer once and about two weeks later, Jimmy Barrier himself called me to accede.

My comment refers to CPO gives warranty term similar/better than a new car & 2K miles, should have about zero wear.
but the in-service date may well be 2006. 2.5 yrs old, 3.5 yrs old, who cares, nobody knows as we don't know the exact car.

My point being the mileage and CPO still don't make it a new car and the pricing seems to make that assumption.

It's still a 3 year old used car however you dress it up. Bid accordingly.

Always the right way to negotiate.

Find the number they won't take, throw the salesman your business
card (with your title that shows you can easily afford the car),
and get out of there.

Those eight other people ready to buy the car according to the salesman
always seem to disappear.

What I said regarding Tip is from the market point of view, I think there's less demand for a tip compared with a manual and even though it's a costly option when new it is a minus in the used market. Usually a tip is priced less compared with a manual everything else being equal. So that's good for you if you want a Tip, it's bad for the dealer
You had a great tip from Maxy... time to play hardball

Huh? I don't understand that logic.

My point about CPO comparing it to new is that the in service date is moot since CPO gives 6 years from mfg date. Can often be more attractive coverage than a new car. Agreed it's not a new car...but this is as close as it gets with some perks of coverage beyond a new car via CPO

I have to agree with Tone -although you hear you can get this or that for mid 50's how many of you would let your car go for mid 40K? That way the dealer can sell it for mid 50's. Most of us would refuse. For every car the dealer can bring in for mid 50's to low 60's, he's trying to get high 60's to mid 70's.

cpo is six years from date of in service..or when the car was punched. It is not Manufacture date. If the car is out of warranty, then the cpo is 2 years and up to 100k total mileage
