Default 2008 Guards Red GT3 for sale

This is a cross post since I believe the 997 gt3 thread readers probably already have a 997 gt3.

Selling my beloved GT3 for $99,000. Very clean, 100% undamaged/unrepaired and well cared for. The car has track mileage (no off track excursions) and a very neutral track alignment. I wanted to give you guys the first opportunity to get a well setup street car for the track before attempting ebay or anything similar.

For the members that can see it (members only?)
http://forums.rennlist.com/marketpla...ct/166/cat/500

And for those that can't, here is a summary

Basic car, 11k miles with red trimmed interior, belts and tail lights
500 mile old Pirelli Corsa System N0's recently installed (no noticeable use or hard cornering)
I have the window sticker with the options, VIN and pictures upon request.

I have a set of 19" Carrera Sport knockoffs mounted with 90% (3 heat cycles) Hoosier R6's that I will include with the car to help motivate the next owner to the track as well.

The sales paperwork will go through a local Porsche dealer since they are better at that type of thing than I am for around $500 plus taxes to the buyer.

My I ask please, if the stated dealer handles the paperwork for you, then is it still a private party sale?

No sales tax on private party sales in many states including mine.

Johnny, that is a very good question. The reason the dealer is handling the paperwork for me is because I only have to pay the difference in taxes from this sale, to the new car. Not the full tax on the new car.

I found this briefly, send me a PM if you're interested and I can put you in touch with the dealer and they can explain exactly how the deal would work for you. This random google search kind of indicates no, you do not pay texas tax on it if you register it out of state?

Q:
Do you have to pay sales tax when purchasing a used car from a private party in texas?

A:
Yes, when you transfer the vehicle to your name, you will pay the taxes in the state you register the vehicle in.

It sounds to me like the dealer is effectively taking your car in trade and then turning right around and reselling the vehicle to the "buyer." I assume that the title will reflect these two separate transactions.

I never heard of paying sales tax to the state from a private party sale.

That's the way it's always been done in CA. Sales tax is paid to the DMV by the new buyer when the car is registered. If sales tax is paid in another state, the CA DMV collects the difference between the percentage paid and the percentage due in CA county where registered.

We also have to pay sales tax on new and used cars for the full amount of the car purchased, even if there is a trade-in.

I was talking to my dealer about some options and mentioned the sale to him. He says private party or dealership, the sale is the same and he is not required to collect any form of tax or registration if you are buying from out of state.

He will provide you a bill of sale, which along with the title you will register the car in your state and not pay tax.

This is coming from a dealer that knows the most about Texas law obviously. He mentioned Oregon specifically and said that a car transferred there would not be subject to taxation upon registration.
