Default whistle from left side mirror

anyone have this/fixed this?

i tried putting hand out while driving covering certain "seams" to see where its coming from but its impossible to tell... sounds like from the mirror but might be other trim around that same area...

so annoying, only heard w/ windows down and over 45mph....

Do a search. This is a common problem. It comes from wind getting into the seam between the upper and lower parts of the mirror.

Its a TSB item,
Dealer will fix it for free.
I think they re-seal the mirror. They did both of mine

BTW you can see all the TSB's if you Join Renntech for a small donation to running the site

Is it a "flapping" sound? Mine sounds like a piece of a plastic bag or something is stuck somewhere on the left side...

I have this as well coming from the passenger side when the windows/sunroof are open. Does anyone know exactly wht the fix is, as i have sent it to the dealer twice without being fixed. I even had them take a drive with me. If it is such a known isssue, i would think they would know the exact fix. Damn dealers!

I guess i may need to visit another local dealer.

My passenger side mirror has whistled at highway speeds from the start. Been aware of the fix but do not trust the dealer to get it right the first time.

Solution for me is to raise the passenger window to the half way point...whistle then disappears.

the dealer did it... they did something with the pillar actually and was good but today @ over 90mph it came back.. so i setup another appt.. ive heard they "reseal" the mirrors if its from a different location... i will mention this to them when i go next.. my pass side=cured.. driver side is >90mph only now.. used to be 45mph+

just go to dealer and tell them u got a whistle... to fix urself i think ud have to remove mirror and put some kind of sealant at the top/bottom seam to seal that... and then some more sealant where mirror fixes to the A pillar.

they said the air going thru the mean goes faster than the car speed to clear water from window... and this increased speed and compression is what forces the air into the crack and to whistle.. so sealing it=no more leaks of air=no whistle..
