The 2009 Carrera S sounds better than the Turbo. In my opinion it's very difficult to notice a difference in the two cars under 4000 RPM's. I would go with the S. No question.

Count me among those uninterested in owning a Turbo. The choice between a new 997.2 C2S and a nice 2007 or 2008 GT3 is much harder, though...

What? So sportscars should only be driven under 4k rpm?

Should only be driven under 4k rpm...on the way to the rev limiter!

Yea, there's also no difference when they are at idle. So I guess even a Honda Civic is just as good at the TT.

Make mine a turbo -lots of opinions about AWD vs RWD, viscreal etc. I believe you will be thrilled just as much with AWD as with RWD, maybe differently, but the smile will be just as large

I made the opposite move from a 997.1 Turbo to a 997.2 S (with PDK). Can honestly say that once you have 'got used' to the power of the Turbo (and you will) it begins to feel a bit bland, which after six months ownership of the S still doesn't feel the case. I'm also biased as I prefer the look of a standard Carrera over the Turbo (too much going on).

In summary no regrets in changing, but am now beginning to hanker after a 997.2 GT3.......
