Taking delivery of my C4S Cab in about a month and lining up my clear bra but cannot seem to decide on whether to go full hood or half hood coverage ? My current car, BMW 330 CiC has tons of rock chips well up onto the hood so thinking maybe full coverage is better. The C4S will be Basalt Black and my installer uses 3M bras. Appreciate any input. Thanks

I had the Venture Shield clear bra installed over the full hood, fenders, front, and mirrors about a month ago. I'm quite happy with the results. There are some photos in my album if you are interested.

Forget the 3M. WAyyy to thick and looks crappy. Venture Sheild is a lot thinner, but offers a lifetime guarantee and it's NOT weak(er) by going that route. 3M looks more like the pieces infront of the rear wheel wells.
Venture Shield for the win!

As stated above, go for full. Try to make sure it covers the entire hood. Mine was taken from 3M material that was to be used for a large commercial elevator. Most of the full-hood jobs I've seen still only reach to about an inch to the top.

I have no personal experience with these products but was talking to a local shop manager that installs 'em. He said they work great until you need to remove the material if/when it discolors then it is common for bumper paint to peel off with the film. His opinion if I was only going to keep the car a couple years and I wanted it to be perfect the get the fill. If it was a keeper then skip the film.

Did full hood Venture Shield a year ago on a 2008 cab. Would not hesitate to do the same if I had to do it all over again. No brainer IMHO. Search other threads on same subject.

25k on mine with no bra. I'd rather see the occasional pit here and there on the bumper than the "clear bra", hell its only plastic. I probably have but don't notice anything on the hood.

kuai-diver....
you probably have some little pits or nicks, (don't go looking for them)..it's the people....some of us are Obsessive-Compulsive perfectionists, and even a factor smidgin of an irregularity will make us lose sleep....enjoy your car as you do, I'm in the OC group, I'm using the old style colgan bra, but would love to lose it for the new stuff.....or else have Colgan make me one in Cocoa Brown to match my GT Silver/Cocoa brown top and interior....I want an "old school" car, so could live with the "ugly" bra...but I'm sure it saved me alot of dings and nicks, Word of advice, take off often and clean often.....otherwise the dirt that gets into the hooks and othe places will cause some spots that will need to be taken care of....discovered that on my VW R32.....have had colgan bras on all my cars going back to my 82 VW Scirocco...and can't wait to get the new Scirocco 09 or 10...... hopefully it'tll get get gas mileage cuz my R32 with the 6 cylinder is like Bluto on Animal House..... I keep missing these new things by a few months....I should wait and see before I act.
Take care you all, and drive this weekend, he said....

Living in the North East, with sand and gravel on the streets about half the year, the Full Clear Bra was the only choice for me. When cleaning the car, I will see traces where something has grazed the hood or fenders, well above the Half Bra line.
Since the Full Hood, Full Front Fenders are covered on mine, the fear of the debris from driving around here.
