Burmester audio system into the 911?
This is a "Does anybody know anything about the future 911 audio system?" post.
In case you haven't noticed, the mad scientists at the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen fun factory have put a Burmester audio system (1000 watt head unit pushing 16 speakers) into the Panamera. IMHO, Burmester is to Bose as Porsche is to Chevrolet. So, the Burmester system is a dream come true. Literally, for me anyway.
Does anyone know if, and if so during which MY, Porsche will be dumping Bose in the 911 product line in favor of a Burmester system?
A simple mind WANTs to know.

5k option in Panamera S
3200 In Panamera Turbo as an upgrade over the Bose.
It appears that the Bose will stay around with Burmester as an alternative option
at least in the sedan.
Will Burmester make it's way to the 911, who knows?

Audi went from Bose to Bang & Olufsen - huge improvement.
The Panamera system is overkill for a 911 ( 2.5 sq. feet of speaker space ), but let's hope Porsche drops Bose.

I imagine a system of the same size, weight, wattage, and sonic sq. footage as the current BOSE system yet constructed and tuned specifically for the 911 by Dieter Burmester's crew.
Something appropriate for both an engineering marvel like a Porsche 911 and a $100,000+ automobile.
BTW, it would be more efficient simply throw in a few magazines and just cut a hole in the floor of the elevator.

That's why I would hope that only the collaboration between Burmester and Porsche would migrate to the 911... not the specific 16 speaker 1000 watt unit from the Panamera.

Dear Porsche,
We don't need a lot. Give us 6.5"/1" components up front (4 speakers), 5.25/1" components in back (4 speakers), and an 8" sub up front (1 speaker). Do away with that retarded center channel speaker. Power the front and rear speakers with 75w/channel, and the sub with 150w. And please, pretty please, throw in a 5-channel DSP EQ Get it all from JL Audio or HK if you don't want to go B&O or another high end manufacturer. See, it's not that hard. For the "purists," it's less speakers (9) than the Bose system (11?), it's lighter, and it's gotta be cheaper than the current Bose.
Love,
Sadiq
