OMG - how could he do that? Driving <100 miles in an enclosed trailer to concours events. Wait a sec, is that my brother's car?

And what is with Porsche 944 Turbo owners and their use of 951 to describe their cars? You'll never find a "951" on that back of that car.

For a concours car you already aren't in compliance,--with non-OEM wheels...
Does your car have a 997 badge on the back of it?

Default This is why I do it

In reply to most of you, I get all the enjoyment I can stand on the track driving a 951. As far as Pebble Beach in 2030, I could care less. Sandwedge, the photo can be decieving, I assure you the rear wheels could not be put out another 5mm. A lot of you don't understand why I do this, well maybe the photos below will explain why. I get immense pleasure in winning them. Thanks for all you your input.

Congrats on all those awards, Steve! I guess you just get more pleasure from winning the accolades than driving your 997. That's something I simply don't understand, but to each their own.

Photos don't help in my opinion. What an absolute shame.
This is a 3 year old base model 911....not anything exclusive at all.

Thanks. My favorite trophy is the pewter one on the table. That is for 2008 Rennfest and it is signed by Vic Elford.

Elusive, you just don't get it. It's exclusive to ME. As far as a base model it's better that having the S's PASM suspension. But is see you are in Colorado and probably need your car to sit up high like a 4X4.

Does the engine still run? Gaskets tend to go bad if the engine does not run. What's the gas tank condition? Stabil? Or is this a 79 mile chassis but the engine makes 'idling miles'?
The tires must be flat-spotted.

But I agree with you. It's your car and you are free to do as you please.

The car is run every week with variations in the RPM after it gets warm. , fuel is kept fresh and with Stabil, Tires are turned to prevent flat spots, and battery charged. I do the same with my perfcet condition 1997 Boxster, 8739 Miles, TPC Supercharger and H&R Coilovers, 18" Porsche Sport Classic II Wheels. No leaks in any of them and the oil and brake fuluid changed on schedule.

Edgy01, Originality as far as Concours does not matter on newer Porsches, Only those older cars entered in the Preservation or Restoration class. All of my trophies are first place and judges choice.

I would like to see yr Boxster as well.

As I am somewhat new to Porsche ownership, some of these tactics (not driving a new car) are new to me, but I agree with you... it is your investment and your car and you can use it anyway you wish to get the maximum joy out of it.

Many of us are not that much different, driving perhaps only on weekends or in fair weather, etc. Congrats on your trophies. Thanks for your service as well if that is your shadow box on the wall...I spent 25 years in AF.

2001 Boxster S (23,000 miles) :-)
